2020 SDG PIONEER
Will you be the next SDG Pioneer?
As part of the Making Global Goals Local Business campaign, each year the UN Global Compact recognizes a class of SDG Pioneers — business leaders working at any level of their company who are using business as a force for good to advance the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDG Pioneers play an important role to drum up interest on the Global Goals and how the UN Global Compact is empowering businesses to do so.
In 2020, the UN Global Compact will recognize at least five SDG Pioneers working at any level in a participating company of the UN Global Compact who are setting ambitious SDG targets, scale and impact across their companies through a principles-based approach.
The call for the 2020 SDG Pioneers will include two rounds: Local Round in Lebanon (February – May 2020) and Global Round in New York (May – September 2020).
The 2020 SDG Pioneers campaign aims to recognize a combination of:
• C-suite leaders that have truly innovated their business strategies and operations to drive ambitious SDG targets, scale and impact across their companies
• Any employee working in a GC participating company who has driven such disruptive change and impact at scale across their organization”.
Perks of the Program
- Engagement and recognition of employees: The program is a chance for companies to call attention to how their employees are promoting the SDGs and show how they are in fact, next-generation leaders.
- Acts as a change agent for SDGs: SDG Pioneers Program provides a rare opportunity for professionals to create a change and promote their vision forward within their specific organizations.
- National and international recognition: SDG Pioneers will gain visibility and recognition for the great work that they put forward to advance the SDGs.
