Announcement of our Local SDG Pioneer 2022

Global Compact Network Lebanon is delighted to announce Marianne Itani as the winner for 2022. Marianne will be representing Lebanon in the SDG Pioneer Global Round as well which will take place in June 2022.

Ralph Georges Khairallah came in second place and Francesca Vincenti was awarded third place.

The local round competition included several companies with outstanding profiles, but we could only choose one winner and two runner-ups. The nominations for the award were evaluated according to regulations and guidelines set by the UN Global Compact Office in New York and the ranking was determined by a jury. The jury was composed of:

  • Imad El Hajje, PR &  External Affairs Executive – Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon
  • Isabelle Mansour, Head of Communication and Sustainability Department – BLOM Bank
  • Yara Nassar, Program Manager – UN Women
  • Ronnie Richa, Senior Marketing Manager – Liban Post

Ten years ago, Marianne Itani, a fresh graduate in Public Health & Development Sciences, joined Beesline, a leading natural cosmetic brand based on Apitherapy. One of the most significant steps during her career was handling the Planet Positive Impact department and creating a sustainability mindset among Beesline’s people.

Marianne is responsible for managing and coordinating all sustainability projects, including CSR activities at the company. She also creates the needed awareness by educating and training the different teams on specific social & environmental sustainability goals.

Marianne is also working on new policies that support human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption to ensure sustainability and consistency at the workplace. Her goal is to drive the company toward a circular economy practice, create a fair & equal culture, and protect the planet while spreading awareness among the Beesline team.

The announcement of the award was yet another occasion for the Lebanese Network to emphasize the 10 Guiding Principles and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which are even more important today than ever before.

On behalf of our Executive Director, Deenah Fakhoury, and the Team at the Lebanese Network, we would like to congratulate Marianne, Ralph, and Francesca on their fantastic work.
