TGE MODULE 1: DIVERSITY TARGETS – DEFINING AMBITION

Target Gender Equality is a gender equality accelerator programme developed by the UN Global Compact. This programme aims to assist and support companies to deepen the implementation of women’s empowerment and foster ambitious targets for women’s representation within the company at all levels by engaging them in WEPS (Women’s Empowerment Principles), capacity building workshops, peer-to-peer learning, and multi-stakeholder dialogue at the country-level.

The first Module, Diversity Targets & Defining Ambition was held on Wednesday, October 20th, in partnership with Global Compact Network – UAE and Global Compact Network – Jordan, featuring experts in the Gender Equality Sphere.

This Module aimed to provide the participating companies with the best practices and needed knowledge through which it enabled them to channel their thinking on Gender Equality. Moreover, it helped them align with effective target-setting guidelines and determine the next steps aiming to create ambitious diversity targets for their organization.

The Module was facilitated by Mrs. Nadine Al Achy and Mrs. Maria Kidney from Out of the Box, who tackled and explained deeply the below main points:

–         Discuss women’s representation in leadership and businesses.

–         Understand the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

–         Learn about the importance of target setting and what it means to set ambitious targets for your organization.

–         Action planning to set targets for your own organization.

At the end of the session, participants have exchanged practices and insights through a group discussion in which they shared best practices and success stories of setting targets in relation to diversity and equality.
