The ZERO HUNGER Initiative at the Community Fair of Balamand

On Thursday 19 2019, the Global Compact Network Lebanon Team took a booth at Balamand University to partake in the Zero Hunger initiative.

On a sunny day outdoors, our team helped raise awareness on the general functions of the Global Compact Network Lebanon, inspiring many students to take action and get involved in our national mission of achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and fulfilling the 2030 agenda.

Our team was also happy to share all of our ongoing programs such as that of the Young SDGs Innovators Program (YSIP) , and also explained the steps to register for our flagship event Making Global Goals Local Business Middle East Forum.

The participating NGOs in this community fair had all focused their projects on SDG 2 : Zero Hunger. People who walked around the booths had the opportunity to learn about the different means that each NGO was exercising to confront and terminate the social evil of hunger.

In a nutshell, the engagement with both the students and professors was quite optimal, as many questions were raised and accordingly clarified by our passionate team.
