
Lebanese League for Women in Business (LLWB)
The main activities that rotate around this SDG include: LLWB’s women on board initiative advocating for 30% women on boards of directors by 2025, training and mentorship programs supporting women-led start-ups and SMEs in North Lebanon and Beqaa, the Lebanese Women Angel Fund (LWAF) dedicated for investing in women-led start-ups, the Girls Got IT and Girls Day initiatives which aim to create awareness among girls in grades 10, 11 and 12 around STEAM fields, on-going skills development trainings and networking events targeting women in business and women entrepreneurs in the regions of Beirut, North Lebanon and Beqaa.
Our CSR Activities
LLWB organized a series of meetings inviting members and partners to brainstorm the role that the association can play in addressing needs and challenges that are arising given the current situation. The main areas of intervention identified by members revolved around:
Businesses and start-ups. Supporting women-led businesses, start-ups, and employees, in order to navigate the economic situation.
Medical Supplies & Medications. Addressing and circumventing crisis of medications and medical supplies.
Education. Addressing tuition concerns, and a promote an atmosphere of civic and political engagement on university and school campuses, and collect necessary resources.
Food Security. Navigating economic crisis and its ramifications on country's food security.
Mental Health. Providing mental health support and other services to women.
Outreach. Engaging with women, university students, and other members of society on the sociopolitical context related to the current situation.
Six task forces were therefore formed to address each of the identified areas and are currently working on implementing action plans they developed in this regard. The activities are carried out in coordination with LLWB.
