The conference was organized by the United Nations Economics and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN ESCWA), offering an important milestone ahead of the 2019 High-Level Dialogue on Financing for Development and the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.
The two-day conference was held over eight sessions, having a key theme of how to converge Fincancing for Development in line with the 2030 Agenda and take measures to combat Illicit Financial Flows.
The participants included our very own GCNL President Dr. Dima Jamali and Executive Director Mrs. Dina Harake. Dr. Jamali was a speaker in Session 5 Illicit Financial Flow (Motives, Drivers, Channels of Delivery & Emerging Challenges), and Mrs. Harake was a moderator in Session 6, Governance, Corruption & Transnational Crime related Illicit Financial Flows.
High-level dignitaeries, international experts and regional academicians participated in the discussions and findings on how to the guide the future work on IFFs and maintain global, regional and national action to eliminate them by 2030.
